Linda Bergström is a Swedish singer and composer. She is active at the music scene, primarily in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and the UK. With her bright and natural voice, she takes on new projects with personal expression and integrity. Linda has been renowned for her way of singing beautiful interpretations making challenging music with delicate ease.
In 2018, Linda received Malmö Stads kulturstipendium (culture scholarship) and won the award “Årets grupp” (group of the year) together with We Float at P2 Jazzkatten. In 2019, Åkervinda got nominated for a Swedish Grammis 2019 in the category “Årets folkmusik” (folk music of the year) for their album “Förgänglighet”.
Born into a singing family, Linda was practically born singing. Her family members still recall moments of Linda singing during all different kinds of activities one can imagine, including eating and sleeping. 16 years old, Linda moved to Stockholm for studies at Södra Latins Gymnasium. That came to be the starting point for her love for jazz music.
In 2008, Linda started her studies at Skurups folkhögskola where she kept developing her own sound for two years. Not far from Skurup Linda graduated from the Malmö Academy of Music in 2014, receiving her Bachelor in jazz vocals.
2014 was also the year when Linda started releasing albums and became a fellow member of the record label and musicians collective Havtorn Records, where she is now the chairman.
Linda has worked with bands and artist such as DR Big Band (DK), Sinne Eeg (DK), Magnus Tingsek, Josh Groban (US) and Jaron Freeman-Fox (CAN).
