Hi!
How are we all? I hope you’re all well. 2020 is here and after a slow start the tempo has increased rapidly over the last couple of weeks. We Float has been out on the road with Samuel Hällkvist -yey! First we went to Växjö (Kafé de Luxe) and Örebro (Örebro konserthus) and ended the trop in Stockholm. The Stockholm gig was the gig that we auctioned out for the benefit of Musikhjälpen 2018. A looooovely couple in Stockholm won the auction and decided to invite us and their friends to a party where we played a concert, drank wine and cuddled with their sweet terrier. We met some wonderful people during this trip and I got to celebrate my birthday on stage in Örebro konserthus, I even got applause :D
On the second trip we went to Gothenburg (Nefertiti Jazz Club) and Mellerud (Kulturbruket på Dal). Both venues were lovely and the audiences wasn’t big but positive and loud :) Next up is Oslo next Wednesday.
Åkervinda is traveling outside of EU in the end of February, because we’re going to the UK. It’s the first time since Brexit, but I’m not sure we’ll notice anything different. We’re going to England and Scotland and we’re skipping London this time (love you London, but we had to see something new, hehe). We’ll travel straight to Stockholm after the tour and sing a concert at Sigtunastiftelsen. If you’re in the Stockholm region, this is a tip for you! I’ve seen pictures and that place looks beautiful!
Oh! And we just received the news that Åkervinda has been accepted to compete at the big vocal competition vokal.total in Graz, Austria! We’ll be competing in two categories; unplugged and pure. The have revamped all of their categories for this year’s edition, so we’re thrilled that we could find to categories where we could fit in. Cross your fingers for us in July!
I’ve updated my site with more upcoming gigs, so please have a look if you’re interested in finding a concert near you. For example Åkervinda has a couple of shows in Sweden, Denmark and Germany this summer and We Float is going to Norway (yey!) in May. Touché has two concerts in Copenhagen and Malmö in April. More things are in the pipeline and will be up on the site soon, but I’m waiting for some final details.
Recordings and new releases is also in the pipeline for 2020 and 2021! Åkervinda will release a new single later this year, We Float and Ava will record new material that will be released in 2020 and 2021. Hurray! I enjoy the process of releasing new music so much and it’s feels so special when the music is so fresh that you haven’t really played it for a large audience yet, it’s so secret.
Yesterday I was on the beach with Peggy and at one point the wind lifted us both up in the air. I only lasted for like a milli second, but WOW. Don’t mess with Mother Nature, she has some serious super powers. So take care out there in windy February. Wear warm shoes and don’t do anything stupid.
